Osso buco is one of my most favorite dishes. Sadly, I don’t eat it often, both because of the “humane” concerns and because I can hardly ever find good veal shanks here in Champaign. I did get some about 5 years ago and made the dish and it was so wonderful. And yep, with that risotto, it’s heaven.

The broccolini looks gorgeous, too.

Shaun – Yes, it is a great pairing! My dad was from Milan so I imagine my mom made this dish to satisfy his craving for food from his home town. Next time I will have to try making it w/ beef shanks like you do.
