It’s 2008, I’ve got the blues, and I’ve lost my cooking mojo! I’m going to a pie making workshop on Sunday so maybe that will help inspire me. Â
Until then, here are some photos from my last work week. I got some great shots of the Seattle skyline but unfortunately we didn’t get to spend any time there. We did however get to spend a few hours in Napa Valley. It was torture going to wine country and not being able to taste any wine! (we were on duty) Thankfully we had the opportunity to eat a nice meal at Mustards Grill and stop by the French Laundry in Yountville to take a look around. I was able to go in the kitchen because the restaurant was closed for a few days for a tune-up. We also had time for a short visit to Copia (the center for wine, food and the arts) in the city of Napa. Â
Enjoy the views! (click on photos to zoom in)

Sorry you have the blues, but I think it’s a winter thing, at least it is for me. I HATE winter. (Yes, that’s hate with all capitals, that’s how I feel about it.) Lucky you getting to eat at Mustard Grill, I have heard that it’s fabulous. Have fun making pie.
Pie will surely be an inspiration!
I’m jealous of your tour through the French Laundry, it’s on my increasingly long list of places to go.
Kalyn – Yeah, I think my blues stem from being cooped up inside too much due to the cold winter weather! Mustards is definitely worth the trip when you’re in Napa Valley.
I’m looking forward to eating a delicious hot apple pie fresh from the oven tonight after the workshop!
Brilynn – I hope the pie making will inspire me too! I was lucky to get to walk through The French Laundry… if it was open for business that day I wouldn’t have had the oppotunity to sniff around the way I did!
That’s funny to think that I haven’t done the baking since the last week of 2007 until today and you are having blues. What a coincidence. I hope it won’t be long until you will want to cook again, Bruno. I now have connected the broadband and I can catch up with you. Dial-up last time was soooooo slow I can’t even load your page. Wish you all the best! Cheers, ab.
Thanks for the well wishes Arfi. Glad you now have broadband… it makes such a difference doesn’t it! Cheers to you too!
